MCP Connector

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to TakoCode

TakoCode is an MCP server. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client and your assistant can commission complete web apps: TakoCode's own coding agent builds them server-side, hosts them live, publishes them to real domains, and hands your code back as a ZIP or GitHub repo. Your assistant orchestrates; TakoCode does the engineering.

Add to Claude (web & desktop)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector
  2. Enter https://takocode.com/api/mcp
  3. Claude opens TakoCode — log in (or create a free account) and click Approve

Works on all Claude plans, including Free. That's the whole setup.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http takocode https://takocode.com/api/mcp

Claude Code walks through the same OAuth login. Prefer a token instead? Create a personal access token in Settings → API tokens and add it as a Bearer authorization header.

Add to ChatGPT

  1. Open chatgpt.com/plugins, click the plus button, then Add custom MCP server
  2. Name it TakoCode and enter https://takocode.com/api/mcp as the MCP server URL
  3. Choose OAuth authentication, accept the custom-server notice, and click Create as a plugin
  4. ChatGPT opens TakoCode — log in (or create a free account) and click Approve

Custom MCP servers are available in ChatGPT workspaces that allow them (Business, Enterprise and Edu, on the web). Then start a chat, type @TakoCode and ask for an app. The ChatGPT directory listing uses the same account on a purchase-free endpoint, https://takocode.com/api/mcp/chatgpt, where credits, membership and domains are managed from your TakoCode account rather than inside the chat.

Other MCP clients

Any client that speaks Streamable HTTP can connect to https://takocode.com/api/mcp with OAuth or a tako_pat_… token. stdio-only clients can use the takocode-mcp bridge with a personal access token.

What happens after you connect

First contact, your assistant interviews you — four quick questions it saves as your automation preferences, enforced server-side on every call:

Then you just talk: "build me a booking site for my barbershop." Your assistant creates the project, TakoCode's agent builds it (turns run 1–5+ minutes server-side), and you get a live preview link after every round. Publishing, domain purchases and wallet top-ups always come back to you as approval steps or secure Stripe checkout links — your assistant can never spend on its own.

Your account stays yours

Everything your assistant builds lives in your normal TakoCode account: open takocode.com anytime to chat with the agent directly, inspect files, manage deployments and domains, or continue where Claude or ChatGPT left off. Revoke the connector's access anytime from Settings.

Billing

Same pricing as the web app — the $10/month membership plus prepaid wallet credits metered per agent turn, deployment and domain. No separate MCP fees. Set a monthly budget cap during the interview and TakoCode refuses work past it.
